Each film-coated tablet contains 556 mg of valacyclovir hydrochloride USP.


It is an antiviral drug indicated for herpes zoster, genital herpes, and herpes labialis also indicated in the treatment of chickenpox in children less than 2 years.

Side effects

Mild to moderate side effect has been observed such as breathing difficulty, blurred vision, hallucination, bloody diarrhea


This drug is to be cautiously used in patients with kidney and liver disease, AIDS, pregnancy, and lactation.


This drug is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity.

Dosage and administration

Herpes zoster- In adults usual dose consists of a tablet of 1 g to be given orally 3 times a day for 7 days.
