
Composition
A single-dose tablet of sarecycline is 60 mg, 100 mg, or 150 mg, which is composed of sarecycline hydrochloride as its main constituent and contains 64.5 mg, 107.5 mg, and 161.2 mg equivalents.
Indications
The use of sarceycline is indicated in the treatment of lesions of acne vulgaris. It is also used in the treatment of moderate to severe acne.
Side effects
Side effects mild to moderate in nature that have been observed are such as nausea, headache, tenderness, vomiting, watery diarrhea, or bloody diarrhea in some cases, and severe sunburn and dizziness.
Precautions
To be prescribed cautiously if the patient is having diarrhea.To be used cautiously in women of childbearing age. Not to be used in the second or third trimester of pregnancy as it might cause harm to the unborn fetus.
Contraindications
The use of sarecycline is contraindicated in patients with a previous history of hypersensitivity or allergic reactions. Patients with hypersensitivity to any of the tetracyclines class of drugs.
Dosage and administration
The dosage of Sarceycline is administered based on the weight of the patient. A single-dose tablet of 60 mg is to be taken once a day orally, postmeal. A tablet of 100 mg or 150 mg is to be administered once a day orally.
