
Composition
Each single-dose tablet of nadolol is available in 20 mg, 40 mg, and 80 mg dosage forms and is comprised of nadolol IP equivalent along with other constituents.
Indications
Usage of this drug is indicated in the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension, chronic chest pain, and cases of angina pectoris.
Side effects
A mild to moderate range of side effects has been observed. Side effects such as nausea, dizziness, headache, fatigue, decreased heart rate, troubled breathing, feeling lightheaded, and vomiting.
Precautions
This medication is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with pregnancy, thyroid diseases, diabetes, severe hepatic disorders, or renal dysfunction.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with bronchial asthma, a history of first- or second-degree heart blocks, or cardiogenic shock.
Dosage and administration
In adults, the usual dosage consists of 40 mg per day to be administered orally, but the dose can be increased up to 80 mg per day.
