Composition
Each tablet contain 15 mg pioglitazone as hydrochloride and 850 mg of metformin hydrochloride with other excipients accordingly
Indications
It is indicated to treat type 2 diabetes
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effect have been observed such as bone fractures, anaemia, hepatic failure, urinary tract infection
Precautions
This drug is to be cautiously used in patients with anaemia, premenopausal anovulatory women and pregnancy
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with hepatic and renal impairment, heart failure, diabetic ketoacidosis
Dosage and administration
In adult usual dose for immediate release tablet- 15 mg/500 mg to be given orally twice a day or 15 mg / 850 mg once in a day. Extended release tablet- 15 mg/1000 mg or 30 mg / 1000 mg to be given orally once in a day
