
Composition
Each uncoated tablet contains Glibenclamide IP 5 mg Metformin hydrochloride IP 500 mg and other excipients accordingly
Indications
It is indicated to control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effects have been observed such as vitamin B12 deficiency, anemia, impaired liver function, pruritus
Precautions
This drug is to be cautiously used in patients with a thyroid disorder, impaired pituitary function, lactic acidosis, G6PD deficiency, pregnancy, and lactation
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in people with kidney disease, chronic metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and hypersensitivity
Dosage and administration
In adults the usual dose consists of the tablet of Glibenclamide 1.25 mg and Metformin 250 mg to be given twice a day orally with food
