Composition
For 100units/ml solution each ml contains 100 units of insulin aspart, glycerin 16 mg/ml, phenol 1.50 mg/ml, metacresol 1.72 mg/ml, zinc 19.6 mcg/ml, disodium hydrogen phosphate dehydrate 1.25 mg/ml, sodium chloride 0.58 mg/ml and water for injection
Indications
It is indicated to control the blood sugar level in adults and children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effect has been observed such as urinary tract infections, severe hypoglycemia, back pain, nausea
Precautions
This drug is to be cautiously used in patients with renal disease, hepatic impairment, nerve problems, thyroid, pregnancy, and breastfeeding
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with episodes of hypoglycemia, ketoacidosis, hypersensitivity
Dosage and administration
It is available in 100 units/ml. In adults and children, 0.5 -1 units/kg/day dose is administrated subcutaneously once daily before a meal.
