Composition

Each single-dose tablet of hydralazine available in 10 mg, 25 mg, and 50 mg consists of hydralazine hydrochloride IP equivalent to 10 mg, 25 mg, and 50 mg, along with other ingredients.

Indications

The use of hydralazine is indicated in the treatment of moderate to severe hypertension, heart failure, and chronically elevated Blood pressure in cases of chronic kidney diseases.

Side effects

Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as nausea, headache, diarrhea, dizziness, palpitations, flushing, fever, and serum sickness.

Precautions

To be prescribed cautiously in patients with cerebrovascular disease or collagen disorders.

Contraindications

This drug is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to this drug or its constituents, in cases of systemic lupus erythematosus, severe tachycardia, heart failure, and dissecting aortic aneurysms.

Dosage and administration

In adults, the usual dosage in cases of severe essential hypertension is 10 mg per day to be administered orally every 6 hours, and the dose is increased accordingly.
