Composition
A single-dose uncoated tablet of this fixed drug dose combination is available in 10 mg / 25 mg and consists of Enalapril maleate IP and a few other elements that decide the colour, texture, and taste of the remedy.
Indications
Usage of this fixed drug dose combination is indicated in the prevention of heart attacks, high Blood pressure, left ventricular dysfunction, and congestive heart failure.
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as nausea, light-headedness, fever, chills, easy bruising, headache, tingling sensation, irregular heartbeat, and cough.
Precautions
Enalapril is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with rash, itching, dyspnea, and jugular venous distension.
Contraindications
This drug is contraindicated in patients with stroke, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and renal artery stenosis.
Dosage and administration
In adults the usual dosage consists of 2.5 mg two times a day to be administered per orally. The daily dose should not exceed more than 40 mg/ day.
