Composition

A single tablet of delafloxacin consists of the constituent delafloxacin meglumine (649 mg) equivalent in a 450 mg dosage.

Indications

This drug is used in the treatment of acute bacterial infections, skin structure-related infections, and infections due to bacteria such as Staphylococcus Haemophilus and Streptococcus agalactia.

Side effects

Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, tinnitus, vertigo, infusion site bruises, irritation, pain, phlebitis, pruritus, urticaria, pain, phlebitis, pruritus, urticaria, rash, flushing, and hypotension.

Precautions

To be prescribed cautiously in patients with complaints of tendon rupture, myasthenia gravis, peripheral neuropathy, and other such disorders.

Contraindications

This drug is contraindicated in patients with a known history of hypersensitivity to delafloxacin or any other fluoroquinolones.

Dosage and administration

The usual dosage in adults is 450 mg of tablet, given orally every 12 hours.
