A Single vial of Cefiderocol contains cefiderocol Sulfate tosylate which is equivalent to 1 gram of cefiderocol.


The use of this drug is indicated in the treatment of hospital-acquired infections such as bacterial pneumonia, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and urinary tract infections caused due to susceptible strains of bacteria, pyelonephritis.

Side effects

Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, rash, constipation, cough, mouth sores, itching or bruising, swelling around the I.V. needle region, weakness, increased thirst, or urination.


To be prescribed cautiously in patients with a seizure disorder, clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions or allergies.


Cefiderocol is contraindicated in patients with a known previous history of any severe or life-threatening hypersensitivity to cefiderocol or other antibacterial drugs.

Dosage and administration

In adults, the usual dose consists of 2 grams to be administered every 8 hours by intravenous infusion (I.V). Dosage adjustments are to be done in patients with renal impairment or hepatic disorders.
