A single capsule of Cefadroxil 500 mg is composed of Cefadroxil Monohydrate IP, equivalent to 500 mg.
The use of Cefadroxil is indicated in the treatment of urinary tract infections, skin structure-related infections, infections such as tonsillitis and pharyngitis, and infections due to bacterial strains such as E. coli and Klebsiella.
Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. side effects such as fever, rash, nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting, increased thirst, itching, dizziness, abdominal cramps, headache, hives, and clay-colored stools.
This medication is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with hepatic disorders, renal function impairment, or intestinal problems.
This drug is contraindicated in patients with a previous history of any allergy or hypersensitivity, such as patients with cephalosporin hypersensitivity or penicillin hypersensitivity.
Dosage and administration
In adults, the usual dosage is 1 tablet (500 mg) to be given orally as a single dose.
