Each single-dose uncoated tablet of candesartan, available in 4 mg, 8 mg, 16 mg, and 32 mg, contains candesartan Cilexetil IP equivalents along with other ingredients.


Usage of this medication is indicated in the treatment of hypertension, the prevention of strokes, and the prevention of heart attacks in patients with decreased left ventricular ejection fraction.

Side effects

Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as nausea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, lightheadedness, fainting, hyperkalemia, tiredness, itching, swelling, rashes on the skin, and slow or irregular heartbeats in severe cases.


This medication is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with severe hepatic disorders, patients with hyperkalemia, patients with diarrhea, or patients with kidney disorders.


Candesartan is contraindicated in patients with severe renal dysfunction or patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or any of its constituents.

Dosage and administration

In adults, the usual dosage for hypertension consists of 4 mg once a day at first, which can be increased up to 16 mg a day to be administered orally.
