A single-dose film-coated tablet available in 5 mg/160 mg, 10 mg/160 mg, is comprised of 13.9 mg of amlodipine besylate USP, equivalent to 10 mg of amlodipine, and 160 mg of valsartan USP, equivalent to 160 mg of valsartan, along with other constituents.


Usage of this drug is indicated in the treatment of moderate to severe hypertension, increased workload on the heart overall, and helps in the reduction of pressure load on the arteries overall.

Side effects

A mild to moderate range of side effects have been observed. Side effects such as dizziness, nausea, headache, fatigue, fever, lightheadedness, increased thirst, muscle weakness, cramps, fatigue, rapid weight gain, and swelling or bloating overall.


This medication is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with severe hyperkalemia, worsening angina, complaints of irregular heartbeat, or patients with central nervous system disorders.


This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to this drug or any of its constituents, such as patients allergic to valsartan or amlodipine. This drug is also contraindicated in patients with diabetes or transient hypotension.

Dosage and administration

In adults, in the case of hypertension, the usual dosage consists of 5 mg or 160 mg to be administered orally once a day; further dosage is to be adjusted accordingly with the treatment plan.
