Composition
This drug is a fixed-dose combination consisting of amlodipine and celecoxib, available as 2.5 mg/200 mg, 5 mg/200 mg, and 10 mg/200 mg, in which amlodipine is 2.5 mg and 200 mg of celecoxib equivalents are present along with other ingredients.
Indications
Usage of this drug is indicated in the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension and in the treatment of worsening symptoms of osteoarthritis.
Side effects
A mild to moderate range of side effects has been observed. Side effects such as nausea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, lightheadedness, cold hands or feet, blood in stools, swelling, vomiting, and stomach pain.
Precautions
This medication is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with severe cardiac disorders, renal dysfunction, or any hepatic disorders.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with severe dehydration, aortic valve disease or narrowing of the aortic valve, severe hepatic diseases, and cases of anemia or bleeding disorders.
Dosage and administration
In adults, the usual dosage in cases of hypertension consists of 5 mg of amlodipine and 200 mg of celecoxib to be administered orally once a day.
