Composition
Single tablet of Alogliptin 6.25mg /12.5mg/ 25mg composed of Alogliptin benzoate equivalent to 6.25mg /12.5mg/ 25mg alogliptin
Indications
It is indicated to control the blood sugar level along with diet and exercise in type 2 diabetes patients.
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effects have been observed such as severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, headache, cold symptoms, autoimmune reaction, dark urine jaundice, and irregular heart beat.
Precautions
This drug is to be cautiously used in patients with kidney disease, liver disease, gall stones, pregnancy and lactation, polycystic ovary syndrome
Contraindications
Use of this drug is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis, risk of heart failure, and renal impairment
Dosage and administration
In adults the usual dose consists of a tablet of 6.25 mg, 12.5mg, and 25 mg to be given once daily without food.
