Usage of this drug is indicated in the treatment of increased blood pressure which is hypertension, helps in lowering the overall workload on the heart and blood vessels which helps in the prevention of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney failure.

Mild to moderate range of side effects have been observed. Side effects such as nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, dry mouth, muscle pains, irregular heartbeat, weakness, and joint pain in some cases.

This medication is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with severe liver diseases such as liver cirrhosis, in patients with severe renal dysfunction.

This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to this drug or any of its constituents, in cases of sympathectomy, diabetes, increased cholesterol, Hypomagnesemia, hyponatremia, and hypokalemia .

In case of hypertension, the usual dosage in adults consists of initial therapy with 12.5 mg / 150 mg to be administered orally once a day, further after 2-4 weeks may increase the dose as needed overall dosage not to exceed 25 mg /300 mg.
